Since her werewolf turning, Sage just wants to join the local police and help, but her chance may have finally arrived. When her friend Lucy is found murdered, Sage again asks the local police to let her join. After all, she was the only one who could sense the smallest bit of silver in the coffee that killed Lucy. The captain finally agrees but only if she works with Oren Rinallis, a known warlock with a dark past and a body count.

While neither are happy with the directive, Sage knows this may be her in for the supernatural police. When a second, then a third body turn up dead, not only do they have to find the killer but also figure out the next victim and the motive. As the clues stack up, time is running out.

While there are some slight similarities to Twilight, the underground supernatural world puts it in a class of its own. As Sage and Oren work together, their relationship grows, but slowly, respectfully. The twisted mystery will keep readers guessing until the end, and the sequel will get them back to this creative, original world.
